Job Description

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are really excited to be working alongside a brilliant business in Chesterfield as they look to recruit an experienced Finance Manager into the business on a Full-Time OR Part-Time basis. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a small team and preparing the monthly managements accounts. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the preparation and interpretation of monthly management accounts
  • Maintain effective systems for the payment, reconciliation and monitoring of salaries
  • Maintain efficient and effective arrangements for the collection of, and accounting for, cash and credit income, and for making payments to creditors
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements are met in relation to financial regulations, including timely submission of VAT and taxation returns.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure effective and timely reporting
  • Liaise with the Director of Finance and Resources on the preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts
  • Line manage the Finance Assistant
  • Be responsible for the training and development of the finance team and to deliver and participate in training and development as required
  • Support the preparation of grant applications and monitoring reports
  • Be responsible for own safety and the safety of colleagues and is responsible for taking all appropriate measures required to maintain the security and safety of data, equipment and buildings
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required by the post holder
Person Specification:
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work confidently under pressure
  • Computer literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivots and complex functions
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate complex financial information in a clear and accessible way to different audiences
