Job Description

Diesel Fitter required. My client specialise in the development, production, sale and service of heavy plant equipment to the concrete and mining industries. Due to ongoing to success, they are looking to expand their service team with aservice engineer. The ideal candidate will come from a engine or hydraulics maintenance background, be based near Chesterfield and be willing to travel throughout the UK for the role.This position would also be suitable for anybody who has recently completed an apprenticeship or mechanical college course, such as City and Guilds Level 3 Mechanical Engineering.Diesel Fitter Position Overview

  • The role will mainly involve the troubleshoot, repair, fault find and maintenance of a range of heavy plant equipment
  • You will be workshop based to begin with and after 3 month probation will be driving the company van to service equipment at various sites around the UK
  • Working on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Demonstrating machinery to customers
  • Training on company equipment will be provided
Diesel Fitter Position Requirements
  • A background in the maintenance of engines or hydraulic systems. For example, this could be car/HGV mechanics looking for a change of industry
  • NVQ Level 2 qualified or equivalent in a mechanical discipline
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK for the role
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Full UK Driving Licence, HGV licence beneficial
  • Forklift licence beneficial
  • Based within commutable distance of Chesterfield
Diesel Fitter Position Remuneration
  • Hourly Rate £13.00 - £14.00
  • Working hours Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 15:30 + Overtime as required
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x on weekdays and 2x on weekends
  • Yearly appraisal and personal development plan
  • Forklift course and licence paid for
  • CSCS card paid for
  • Candidates that dont have NVQ Level 2 Mechanical will have this paid for after probation
  • All tools provided, from basic to specialist
  • 31 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Company van and phone after probation. The van can be used for commuting and personal use
  • Yearly company performance based bonus
