Job Description

I am now working exclusively with a Design and Manufacturing Business located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire who are looking to recruit a new Design Engineer. To apply for this position, you will be competent in using Solidworks with an innovative and entrepreneurialskill set. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in New Product Introduction and Product Development.Client DetailsLocated in Chesterfield, Derbyshire my client is part of a larger organisation who design and manufacture products worldwide. Due to continuing product development and NPI they are now looking develop and add to there current design engineering team. Thisposition would be ideal for any Graduate with 2 years design experience or someone with good Solidworks skills.DescriptionAs the design engineer you will be working within a team of 4 engineers responsible for current and future design projects. You will play a key role in maintaining relations with clients, agents, suppliers and liaising with different departments within thecompany as required.Key Duties

  • Create and edit 3D and 2D components and assemblies in Solidworks following drawing office procedures and industry standards where applicable.
  • ensuring all the information on the drawings is correct and gives consideration to the manufacturing, installation and servicing processes.
  • Create, review and rectifying products and drawings in line with current model, drawings, BOMs and production requirements.
  • Ensure any changes to products currently on the market are adequately tracked and documented through Engineering Change Requests.
  • Complete tests on any new products for any given change, whilst following the correct process.
  • Ensure that any necessary project-based paperwork, drawings, calculations is always submitted in the correct fashion and within deadlines.
  • Create detailed pipework and instrumentation drawings for multiple systems and components.
  • Respond to technical queries from within the company promptly and accurately.
  • Perform engineering analysis as required during the design stages or for troubleshooting together with adequate associated documentation.
  • Lead sourcing effort and perform prototype testing following company procedures as required.
ProfileTo apply for this Design Engineer position located in Chesterfield, but commutable form Sheffield you will ideally have a Degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering or equivalent level of experience using Solidworks. You would also ideally have Knowledgeof engineering requirements, design for manufacture following industry design standards.Job OfferThis is an excellent opportunity to get involved in New Product Introduction and Product Development with lots of scope for progression. This will be a Monday to Friday, Days Based role with a starting salary of £30,000 to £35,000 plus package.
