Carbon. Its the common element of all known life on the planet. It brings us beauty in the form of diamonds. It helps us take notes and sketch in the form of the graphite in your pencil. It could be key to future technologies in the form of graphene and nanotubes. But its not so good when released into the atmosphere. Thanks to the push for clean energy, the amount of power generated from captured coal mine and landfill gases has increased hugely over the past decade and there are now hundreds of sites across the UK generating low-carbon power. We all know that Green Energy is the future, and is a sector which has been booming even during the current crisis. In the role of Controls & Instrumentation Engineer you would be working for one of the few companies in the UK with a negative carbon footprint, contributing a positive impact towards climate change. You would be covering their East region, which focuses on sites clustered around Sheffield to Nottingham. You would be dealing with the mainly reactive servicing, fault-finding and repair of a variety of control & instrumentation systems, ranging from sensors, measuring systems, PLCs, data communications, SCADA/HMIs, protection systems and associated plant.. You would have supervisory responsibility over one C&I Technician who would also cover the same region, and so would be able to plan and direct their workload. This role will offer you the opportunity to work in a diverse, growing, medium-sized business who foster a collaborative approach, with the chance to grow and develop within the company and broaden your skills. As long as you have experience ideally within heavy industry such as power generation, manufacturing, paper mills, power distribution or steel then you can be considered. The package will be around £45,000 - £50,000 depending on your extent and relevance of experience, plus up to 25% bonus paid on a quarterly basis, a car allowance of £7500+, private medical cover and 25 days holiday. (Total package £60,000 - £70,000) This is generally a days-based Monday-to-Friday role.If you would like a varied job role where you will be changing the world for the better then please apply for more informationTo find out more about Huxley Engineering, please visit www.huxleyengineering.comHuxley Engineering, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy | Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
