Summary Following a review in 2020 of how the National Trust procures and manages the supply of goods and services for its 300+ properties, a new role of Contract Manager has been developed. This role is key to the development of fit for purpose contracts for a range of goods and services and the delivery of effective and efficient contract / supplier management. The National Trust is recruiting for a further, contracts manager for the newly merged Midlands and East of England Region.This role will initially be based on, home as we work through the pandemic but travel across the Midlands and East of England region will be a requirement of the role. Your future base location will be discussed at interview but there is some flexibility within the region. It is our ambition to set up multiple regional buildings contracts to streamline key day to day facilities and buildings work to achieve better value for money and efficiency. You will be key to this. You will form part of a team of two contracts managers in the region working as part of a larger consultancy team. You will work closely with the operational team on the ground to ensure the success of the contracts you put in place. What youll be doing As the Contracts Manager you’ll work in conjunction with the Head of Procurement and others to deliver the National Trust procurement strategy in your region. You’ll work with your peers across the organisation and also the National procurement team to ensure contracts follow the National Trust’s procurement programme, accreditation requirements and supply chain processes, to deliver and maintain cost effective, robust supply chains.As an experienced procurement professional, you will be required to develop and manage contracts across a broad spectrum of supply areas, including: Facilities Management (hard and soft), gardens and outdoors materials, interpretation and signage and general equipment purchase.You’ll manage the supply chain for your region building productive relationships to ensure suppliers deliver sustainable value, great service and innovation.You’ll be accountable for the development and implementation of new contracts and identify and manage supply chain risk as well as protect the reputation of the National Trust through the application and management of National Trust contracts.Using our internal systems as well as supplier performance tools and monitoring systems you’ll increase awareness of contract usage within your region through effective measurement and regular reporting.Please also read the full role profile attached Who were looking for To be successful in this role you will have:• Demonstrable experience of procuring and managing a wide range of goods and services and achieving cost and process efficiencies• Thorough knowledge of procurement processes for the development and implementation of supply contracts, including experience of developing and issuing tenders, drafting contracts and ability to navigate and understand complex contract documentation• Thorough knowledge of supplier and contract management principles:o Strong contract management skills including; supplier performance management via structured review processes, issue resolution and contract reviews with stakeholders inputo Strong supplier management skills with understanding of supplier relationship principleso Experience in managing supply chains and relevant contracts, including the use and monitoring of SLA’s and KPI’s• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships• Ability to identify and manage risk to the business making sure contracted services are safe, secure and compliant with all relevant legislation and National Trust guidance• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and negotiation skills The package circa. £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Benefits for working at the National Trust:
