Job Description

Becoming a Care Assistant & Companion in the Chesterfield area of Derbyshire is so rewarding! Key Information

  • £10.00 - £20.00 per hour.
  • Pension scheme, paid holidays, and employee Assistance programme.
  • Part-time hours - they are particularly busy during mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, and evenings, so do you have time to spare They all work alternate weekends but often for just a few hours.
  • You will visit the same Clients regularly for 1 hour or more
  • No experience is required as full training is provided.
  • Be willing to provide personal care when required.
  • Many of their clients like a trip out, so it is preferred that you are a car driver.
  • Your Typical Day Your typical day as a Care Assistant & Companion could start with a morning visit to Mabel. Mabel has early onset Dementia and has lost all concept of time, so her morning visit is crucial to keep her in a routine and get her day off to a good start. Arriving at her home you would make her aware it’s you and you would support her to get washed and dressed, prepare breakfast together, laughing and joking about whatever it is you are talking about. After breakfast you may take Mabel out for a gentle stroll and some fresh air, and afterwards play some games to help with her memory or do housework or something else Mabel enjoys.
