Job Description

If so, APPLY NOW!Our Chesterfield based client is a market leader within its industry and due to continued growth are now recruiting for an Buyer to join their team.The purpose of the role is to efficiently operate the day to day activities in the Purchasing department, ensuring all purchase orders are undertaken in a commercially focused and accurate manner.Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting all the internal departments with the sourcing of items required for the business both from the UK and overseas (such as Africa, America) and provide guidance on products/suppliers and services.
  • Creating good working relationships with external suppliers and third party contacts.
  • Supply all required reports to the finance team, to assist with the accounting month end procedure.
  • Support the warehouse by identifying a system with the GRNing for when goods are received in the warehouse.
  • Liaise with the Accounts department to ensure the transition of dealing with invoices is undertaken in a logical and organised system.
  • Tracking spend/orders planned by individual job.
  • Monitor the inventories for the warehouse.
  • Plan and coordinate the packing, despatch, documentation and tracking of all goods and materials from the head office and suppliers both domestic and overseas.
  • Support the purchasing department of all PRMD & MDAL divisions.
Main Duties:
  • Ensure that all purchase orders are input on to the system accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with the Overseas Subsidiaries, Yard and Head Office regarding the delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and log any discrepancies between delivered items and resolve these issues between the relevant parties.
  • Identify and resolve logistic queries.
  • Resolve any invoice queries with the suppliers.
  • Ensure GRN numbers to invoices and liaise with the Accounts department as required.
  • Monitor the inventories for the warehouse.
  • Tracking spend/orders planned by individual job.
  • Arrange and supervise overseas shipments.
Qualifications and experience required for this role:
  • Significant practical experience within Procurement, ideally degree / CIPS qualifiedpreferred but not essential.
  • Experience of international shipping and stock management.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience of working under pressure and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • SAGE experience.
Salary: £35,000 - £40000Location: Chesterfield
