Job Description

Leading Business Services organisation require a Business Intelligence Analyst to support their Finance function with enhanced analytics (Power BI) and reports development. Your primary focus will be to build and implement dashboards using SQL to construct underlying data models and data visualisation techniques to bring data to life and deliver insight that will bridges Operations, IT and Finance together.Key Responsibilities:

  • The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will actively demonstrate first class BI support. They will support with new and existing BI reporting functionality as well as support the development and improvement of new reporting.
  • Providing guidance, Business Intelligence insight and implementation advice for using data effectively within and across business operational processes.
  • Providing key weekly reports that show quantitative analysis of operational and financial data
  • Establish strong relationships with those in the organisation who generate the data used by Finance and to enable effective and efficient sharing of information
  • Maintain & support the analytics platform, troubleshooting problems where they arise.
  • Collaborate with the business to gather requirements, assemble data sets, develop visualisations and extracts, and deliver automated and self-service reports.
  • Work with business units to assist them in implementing process measurement KPIs, remediate data issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Design and deploy databases and data collection, transformation, modelling, presentation and other strategies that demonstrate business insight.
  • Analyse data sets using statistical techniques and effectively communicate trends and patterns that enhance the opportunities available to our customers and the business.
  • Maintaining reporting solutions on BI platform and Excel dashboards
  • Partner and Support internal stakeholders and communicate effectively with stakeholders and use processes as the common language to communicate data concepts and identify key measures - team collaboration.

    • Skills:Technical:
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power Query
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical mind and attention to detail
  • SQL querying and creation of views/tables, functions, stored procedures and SQL server database
  • Ability to code in Microsoft VBA
  • Data literate: drawing from numerical grounding to build data solutions that can drive powerful insights.
    • Behavioural:
  • Time management skills to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved
  • Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with those who generate data used by Finance
  • Exceptional communication skills as well as the ability to simplify complex information for internal customers
  • Attention to detail; to quality check own work and assess source data quality
