Behaviour Support AssistantFull time support role working from 8.30-15.30Ofsted GOOD School in Chester-le-streetWe are working with a Primary School in Chester-le-street who are seeking to source and secure a specialist teaching assistant who can work on a 121 basis alongside a child with challenging behaviour. The child is currently working in the Year 3 class andhas support in place up until Christmas. The child is expected to return to school on the first day back after the Christmas half term holidays and so the school are eager to place an experienced practitioner in the role to support the child.The child does hold a strong academic background but does struggle to be in the classroom without distracted others. The staff in school have used certain strategies and techniques to keep the child on task. The former support assistant was TEAM TEACH trainedand the Head teacher has commented on the job specification that she would ideally like a member of staff who is trained and possibly experienced using verbal reasoning and positive handling.Starting in Januart 2022, this role will be to continue in school for as long as the child works in the classroom. The school are now expecting to keep the child within school until Y6. They are not keen on permanent exclusions nor do they want the childto work in the local referral unit. It is therefore important that the applying candidates and the successful one will be someone who can manage his behaviour and keep him in task.Candidate Requirements:
