Job Description

Would you like to be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery in a growing omnichannel business If so, this could be the perfect job for you!The CompanyFounded in 2014, Vaping Global has quickly grown into a group of companies encompassing high street retail, distribution, manufacturing and an analytical laboratory. Its retail brand, Evapo, is a multi-channel business with more than 35 retail stores in the UK, as well as branches in Germany and Gibraltar, selling a wide range of e-­cigarettes, vaporizers, accessories and e­-liquids.The JobThis vital, hands-on IT role will be the key technical link between the group websites, back end ERP/CRM and warehouse systems and our new Magento agency, as Evapo looks to cement its place as the leading vaping and CBD retailer. You will also be responsible for supporting retail operations and our ERP system, and leading any relevant IT projects in alignment with the IT business objectives.Key responsibilities include:Website technical development and support

  • Plan and manage the front and back end development of group websites working directly with our provider and partners
  • Work with the partner agency to ensure all quality control, testing and approvals for website developments and enhancements are completed
  • Technical responsibility for all website integrations including the 3rd party warehouse and ERP/retail operations systems, including delivery of systems upgrades, security updates and patches including extensions/apps/plugins
  • Technical support for wider business teams including customer service, fulfilment, click and collect, online marketing and social media
    • Retail operations administration
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the back end retail operations and ERP system, utilised for/by CRM, loyalty, stock forecasting and availability management, finance, merchandising and buying runs smoothly
  • Management of retail system with 3rd party partner including coverage of in-store EPOS, payment processing, communications, broadband and new store setup
    • General IT responsibilities
  • Owner of all hosting, server, database, capacity, monitoring, compliance and any related issues
  • Company-wide responsibility for anti-virus protection, security updates and patches, firewalls and password/access controls
  • Maintenance & development of existing IT systems and infrastructure including upgrades.
    • The PersonYou must be extremely organised and hands on, with the ability to prioritise, juggle several work streams at once and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ability to communicate effectively and manage our many third-party providers and agencies will also be essential.Required experience and technical knowledge include:
  • At least 5 years’ previous experience in a small to medium retailer with proven track record of managing and delivering technical developments for multichannel eCommerce
  • Experience working with web agencies and external developers
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP systems and related integrations
  • Strong technical knowledge of Magento 2 APIs and hooks, Shopify templating and extensions, PHP (in OOP and functional scripting), REST APIs and SOAP Protocol, MySQL database administration, frontend stack (html/js/css), version control systems, continuous deployment, Linux server administration.
