Job Description

3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line, IT Support, Infrastructure, LAN, WAN, Azure, Windows, Server, o365, Wireless, Hyper-V, VMware, Field, Project Work) - Permanent - Cheshire Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis for our fast growing business based in Cheshire.Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum Plus Benefits, car allowance and bonusLocation: CheshireSkills/Requirements for the 3rd Line Engineer:

  • Previous experience working at a similar level
  • Experience of project work on a regular basis in addition to BAU
  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills
  • Experience of networking such as: LAN, WAN, VLAN and DNC/DHCP
  • Knowledge of Wireless products such as Meraki, Aruba or other wireless products
  • Strong Office 365 experience
  • Experience of supporting Azure, even at a basic level is required
    • Highly desirable
  • Previously worked as a Field Engineer
  • Microsoft certification
  • A desire to become a leader within an IT team
    • Start date is ASAPThe 3rd Line Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Being the escalation point for other members of staff in the Service Desk team
  • Installing and implementing new technologies for clients around the Microsoft stack
  • Going out to client sites to perform upgrades, implementations and maintenance of IT kit
  • Delivering projects on time and on budget, sometimes with other members of staff sometimes alone
  • Providing a friendly and helpful face of the business to our clients
  • Leading the IT team when the manager is out of the office
