Job Description

About the Service / DepartmentWe are a supported accommodation housing service for Young People Service aged 16-24 years of age who have experienced homelessness and present with support needs.About the roleTo provide short or longer term cover for client facing staff

  • To deliver housing related support to young people (aged 16- 25 years) and to inspire young people using the service to meet their needs and aspirations in education, employment, training or other areas of interest and value to the individual
  • Improve each clients quality of life; prevent homelessness through promoting or maintaining independent living skills and appropriate move on
  • Provide relevant support in accordance to the clients range of needs via support and safety planning and aspirations assessments and through one-to one keywork sessions
  • To maintain accurate service users records and all other records relating to the upkeep and maintenance of the service. This includes electronic based records on our organisational system
  • To carry our Housing Management functions including the collection and management of rent, reporting of repairs and managing the beginning and end of tenancies/licences at the schemes
About you
  • Experience of working with people with a range of different support needs, aspirations for their future and associated risks
  • Experience of delivering supported housing services to people with a range of needs and risks
  • Good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options and legislation related to statutory duty
  • Knowledge of health and safety relevant to role as a Supported Housing Support Worker
  • An ability to undertake client-focused key working, support planning and risk assessments to maximise Service Users independence
  • Good understanding of the range of issues, diagnoses, and treatment relevant to the client group including mental health and substance misuse
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting service users rights, privacy, dignity, choice, and control
  • Ability to liaise with external professionals to inform and develop Service Users support package
  • Willingness to actively engage in undertaking relevant personal development and training
  • Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details
