Job Description

Location: Kensington & ChelseaJoin the UKs leading home care provider as a live-in carer. Your job will involve living with a customer to provide care and companionship in their own home. Find out more about why you should join us.What we pay£704 to £866 per week This is the total value of what we pay to you for each week worked made up of:

  • £610 to £750Basic Weekly Pay (dependent on experience & qualification)
  • £74 to £91 Holiday paypaid to you when you take time off or when you want.
  • £20 to £25Employers pensionwhat we pay into your pension so you can enjoy your hard-earned retirement

What the role entailsBeing a live-in care assistant means you need to be adaptable, personable but ultimately put others first. You will be living with your customer in their home, but you will have your own bedroom and time off at agreed intervals. Your role will include:
  • Living with a customer in their home
  • Companionship
  • Helping with personal care
  • Helping with mobility around the home
  • Overseeing medication and providing medical support
  • Helping with housework such as cleaning and vacuuming
  • Preparing and cooking meals
  • Running errands such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions
All we need from you is a desire to care for others - we can teach you the rest. Working as a live-in care assistant isnt always the easiest job, but we promise that it will be one of the most rewarding.How we workWorking for Helping Hands means that youll be employed by a fully-regulated company that will look after and nurture you, just like we do our customers. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who regulate our service and ensure that weare always safe. That means you never have to worry abouthaving to pay any extras which could come out of your earnings.What we wont doWe will never ask to you be a self-employed carer as Self-employed carers have to:
  • Pay employment taxes out of their earnings
  • Pay an expensive accountant to manage and complete their tax returns including how and when to pay the taxes due to the Government
This is a complex process and getting it wrong and falling foul of the tax man is not a pleasant experience!
