Underwriting Team ManagerSalary: CompetitiveLocation: Homebased, Chelmsford areaWe have an exciting new opportunity within in Underwriting as Mid-Market Team Manager working within the Chelmsford/Essex area. The role is accountable for delivery of the team’s people and operational performance, ensuring strong underwriting quality andcapability development, driving profitable growth and supporting strategic direction!A bit about the job:This role is responsible for the operational performance of a team of around 15 underwriters in the Essex area. The role involves working alongside the Senior Underwriters to enable the delivery on the profit/loss, revenue, capability, resource, governanceand engagement of the team. You’ll be expected to confidently make decisions without delay, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders and be well organised with excellent diary management skills to ensure that alldeadlines are met every time.Skills and experience we’re looking for:Excellent leadership, communication, listening and negotiating skillsStrong underwriting background across multiple classes of business ideally Property, Casualty, Construction or MotorGreat relationships within the marketAble to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and customersHave a love of learning grounded in curiosity, open-mindedness and a drive to make things better by understanding them more completelyWhat you’ll get for this role:Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
