Lead Project Engineer | Space Science | Essex | Competitive Salary £50K - £70K DOEOperating at the forefront of technology, our client boasts an esteemed reputation as a global leader, pushing boundaries in the development of cutting-edge products for space, defence, medical, and commercial sectors.We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Lead Project Engineer to spearhead crucial projects in space science and earth observation.Role Overview:As the Lead Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the teams expansion, encompassing responsibilities such as designing, developing, and validating products across the entire project lifecycle.Reporting to the Lead Engineering Manager, this role involves overseeing and reviewing inputs from diverse engineering teams and serving as the primary technical liaison with the customer.Responsiblities:

  • Provide clear technical leadership, generate an Engineering Management Plan, and administer governance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage technical risks/opportunities, oversee mitigation/capture activities, and lead the delivery of bids and technical proposals in collaboration with the bid team.
  • Maintain Configuration Control of the technical aspects of the product and project.
Skills and Experience:
  • Solid knowledge across various engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, systems engineering)
  • Proficient in managing customer expectations, supported by strong technical presentation and documentation skills.
  • Any project management / team lead / senior role on project experience
