Job Description

Our client, a Vehicle Dealership in the CM postcode area of Essex is currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join their Accounts Department. The salary on offer is £25k and working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.Responsibilities:

  • Processing monthly payrolls;
  • Liaising with departmental managers and external accountants when required;
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies in all payroll areas;
  • Inputting salaries and hours onto relevant software (e.g. SAGE) including commission, bonus, overtime, holidays and unpaid leave;
  • Calculating and inputting amounts relating to SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP;
  • Adding, updating and removing employees from payroll including producing P45’s for leavers;
  • Adding AOE’s and DEA’s to employee records;
  • Sending payment schedules to accounts for payment each month;
  • Completing payroll reports for record-keeping and managerial review purposes;
  • Production of Auto-enrolment pension reports;
  • Complying with GDPR and other relevant legislation regarding confidentiality of pay and personal records of colleagues;
  • Distribution of commission/bonus reports, pay slips and post within strict deadlines;
  • Answering queries regarding wages, deductions, attendance and time records;
  • Compiling, checking and summarising staff expenses;
  • Updating payment templates on various platforms for new staff and changes to personal details;
  • Setting up template payments;
  • About You:
  • Experience within a similar role and processing payrolls;
  • An understanding of payroll software packages including SAGE;
  • An understanding of GDPR and relevant legislation;
  • A good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel;
  • Excellent numeracy skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective time management skills;
  • Pro-active and self-motivated;
  • The ability to work well under pressure and strict deadlines.
