Job Description

Carry out and complete new and reactive gas appliance installations in accordance with the manufacturers instructions, Gas safety Installation and use regulations 1998 act, Part J, Part L and Part P of the building regulations and CDM regulations 2015.Deliver the highest standard of work in a way that sustains high levels of performance, quality and customer satisfaction with a right first-time approach. Proactively support CHPs expanding capability in the installation and repair of Air and Ground SourcePump heating systems. Ensure that an excellent customer focused approach and a right first-time service is delivered in line with agreed budgets and performance targets. Lead in the delivery of gas heating engineering and plumbing duties relating to gas applianceinstallations and associated works, adhering to manufacturers instructions when installing appliances. Undertake the domestic gas installation of new and existing domestic heating systems and related DHW cylinders and control in accordance with the manufacturersinstructions, Gas safety Installation and use regulations 1998 act, Part J, Part L and Part P of the building regulations and CDM regulations 2015. Identify defects as required under (GUSIP) unsafe situation procedures. Provide information to allow recordsto be updated following service and test and issue Landlord Gas Safety record using electronic or manual documentation. Manage stock from authorised suppliers, materials required to undertake works through the approved order system. Responsible for installationplanning, risk assessments, and delivery of works associated, out of hours rota and cover in conjunction with the Senior Gas Administrator, Lead Engineers. Take part in the on-call system to provide 24/7 emergency cover across CHPs property portfolio anddeal with the operatives out of hours escalations on rotation with the Contract Supervisor . Ensure that vehicles operated by the Heating Services team are operated in a safe and courteous manner and represent the company in a positive way to our customersand the general public. Maintain regular contact with the supervisor and colleagues to obtain instructions and resolve working problems. Use a PDA and mobile software to receive and record works, ensuring that all system administration is accurate, up to date,accessible and comprehensive, in line with CHP procedures, data legislation and regulations. Assist in ensuring the correct schedule of rates are booked for works carried out to meet value for money targets. Conduct all work to comply with current health andsafety (H&S) legislation and compliance policies, including manual handling, working at heights and asbestos awareness, with method statements and risk assessments undertaken where appropriate. Responsible for collaborating with the Planning and Logisticsteam to efficiently book or procure materials, plant, stock, tools and equipment required, ensuring timely delivery or collection as appropriate, as well as safe custodianship of all items.RequirementsQualifications NVQ Level 3 / Craft Certificate in Domestic plumbing or relevant trade qualification Gas related qualifications - Domestic: ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, HWSS1, Entry level qualifications in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent,including good communication skills Full UK driving licence and ability to travel Experience, knowledge and skills Strong experience of working in a gas heating services installations environment and delivering works using a multi skilled whole job repairapproach. Completed and spent the required period on a gas apprenticeship (time-served) or significant experience in the gas trade including the installation of boilers, fires, hot and cold-water systems, and full heating systems Relevant experience workingin occupied homes. Strong ability to analyse heating system problems and deliver solutions. Track record of ensuring that work gets done correctly on time, first time. Full and extensive understanding and application of the gas safety regulations. Good knowledgeof health and safety, safe working practices, manual handling, and compliancy in the workplace. Basic IT skills and prior use or understanding of mobile PDA devices. Experience of working in and contributing to a multi-disciplined trade environment. Customerfocused with professional attitude and understanding of working with a vulnerable client group. Ability to embrace change, work well under pressure and adapt/prioritise to meet the changing needs of the business. Ability to undertake emergency works out ofhours and cover. Methodical and accurate approach to work. Ability to work alone as well as part of a team. Ability to ensure service deadlines are met. Ability to undertake technical gas installation surveys, heat loss calculations and gas or heating systeminspections. Ability to undertake diagnostic of new and existing system, power flushing and related tasks.Benefits The salary for this post will be £46,000 OTE Per Annum (Basic £44k) 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays. 37 hours per week - employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need.We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP.
