Job Description

Our clients are an International Freight forwarder and due to expansion of their business and are looking for an Import Operator to work in their Chelmsford office covering mainly sea freight operationsPurpose of the role:To manage the Import operations from start to finishDuties will include:

  • Overseeing the Import operations from start to finish.
  • Covering FCL, LCL and groupage load container freight.
  • Customs clearance and entries (experienced preferred but not essential)
  • Liaison between overseas offices, suppliers, and agents
  • Obtain up to date shipment information and make sure customers are fully informed of the progress of their Import shipments.
  • Update and maintain all files to ensure that all relevant documentation and information is correct and in place
  • Quoting customers making sure maximum profit is met whilst keeping pricing competitive
  • Liaison with shipping lines for ETA notices
  • Liaison with customers and hauliers with regards to their deliveries
  • Liaison with the warehouse with regards to groupage loads and organise deliveries
  • Dealing with any queries that may arise
  • Checking that the file is costed and billed correctly so Invoicing can be sent out
    • You will need to have experience of working within a Logistics organisation or freight forwarders dealing with ocean freight shipments, any air or road freight experience will be an advantage but not essential.Salary is negotiable depending on experience £22/28k Required skills
