The opportunity This role will involve working across this complex and high profile programme covering internal and external engagement. We are looking for someone who is able to hit the ground running, developing and delivering creative content that brings this programme to life and help us target engagement across our range of stakeholders. This will range from partners, community groups , politicians and leaders across the wider system to facebook admins and the working families we are seeking to support. You will be responsible for delivering communication activities across all communication channels in appropriate formats to a wide range of audiences, implementing the communications relations strategy. As a Communications Officer you will be creating and curating content that aligns to the Councils strategic vision which looks to change behaviours, perceptions and attitudes, as well as increasing levels of understanding and satisfaction of council services. You will be adaptable, adept at working in a fast-moving and customer-first environment that relies on real-time communications, welcome change and have a growth mindset. You will have a flexibly work ethic and work collaboratively across structural boundaries in support of key outcomes. Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceYou will have experience of working on publicity campaigns on a local and national level, on behalf of a large, complex organisation. Additional experience working in a political or public sector environment is desirable. You will have strong news judgement and pitching techniques, excellent writing and communication skills. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent by experience and have evidence of continuing professional development and knowledge in relevant professional area. You will have worked within a media relations role and have experience of multidisciplinary and cross-functional working. Experience in a Communications and Marketing advisory/consultancy role is desirable along with the ability to effectively communicate strategy.
