Job Description

BROOMFIELD HOSPITAL AND ST ANDREW’S CENTRE FOR BURNS & PLASTIC SURGERYADVINCED ANAESTHESIA HYBRID CLINICAL FELLOWSHIPS IN BURNS & PLASTIC SURGERY + ADDITIONAL ADVANCED MODULES ACCORDING TO INTEREST.Applications are invited for Anaesthetic HYBRID clinical fellow posts at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. These posts are for 1 year and will consist of an on-call commitment to the burns centre (some general on-call commitment can be arranged by negotiation). In addition to burns & plastic surgery advanced competencies, advanced level competencies will be available in one of the following areas;

  1. Perioperative Medicine (including CPET)
  2. General Duties (Regional anaesthesia & Orthopaedics)
  3. General Duties (Airway & Head, Neck, Maxillofacial & dental)You will also be assisted to complete the non-clinical domains of the curriculum & have protected time for QI projects, research or education.Broomfield hospital is home to the largest Burns centre in the UK (St Andrew’s). It has a dedicated burns ICU & theatre and provides tertiary care for both adults and children. St Andrew’s also features a large plastic surgical and reconstructive service, including hand trauma and cleft lip & palate surgery. It is a tertiary hospital for maxillofacial, ENT and head & neck reconstructive surgeries, upper GI / colorectal / major urology (Including robotic surgery). It has a highly regarded perioperative medicine service with regular cardiopulmonary exercise clinics & high throughput regional anaesthesia service for both upper limb and lower limb surgeries.
  4. The department of anaesthesia has a reputation for providing high quality well-structured training in a friendly and supportive environment. We are looking for dynamic colleagues with enthusiasm and leadership qualities. You should be licensed and fully registered with the GMC. The post would be ideally suited to post-FRCA trainees (or equivalent) who have at least two years of specialty training experience. The posts are suitable for full-time and LTFT trainees.
