Accounts AssistantDepartment:AdministrationLocation:Chelmsford, Essex - free parking five minute walk from the office.Here is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a new position to support the ongoing growth of the business, reporting into the Finance Manager and Residential Accounts Manager.This role offers excellent opportunities and career progression in the coming years; this represents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with the right skills and experience. With the additional opportunity to study for your AAT qualificationfunded by the Company.Duties (including but not limited to):Contribute to and actively take part in the day to day posting of the Groups accounting systemsMaintain appropriate, accurate reporting systems and controls, enabling end users up to Board level to analyse options and make informed decisionsParticipate in special projects as needed within the departmentPrepare weekly and monthly sales reportsReconcile supplier statements and processing supplier invoicesProcessing BACS and Chaps paymentsData entry of daily transactionsOversee accounts receivable including chasing unpaid fees and updating debtor balancesBank reconciliationsCapturing and logging daily invoices to send out for authorisationCustomer remittance postingAssist with the month end process and reconciliationsAssist with reporting financial data to managementEssential Requirements:Have a positive work ethic with a can-do attitude, who provides solutions and supportPersonal integrity; hardworking, personable, professional, and commercially mindedProficient in Microsoft Office and especially Excel (e.g. Pivot tables/formulas)Excellent communication skills.Strong attention to detailDesirable1+ years corporate accounting experience is preferred but not essentialKnowledge of Purchase and Sales ledgerWorking knowledge of accounting software platforms, including Access Accounting, XeroWorking knowledge of ReapIt CRM softwareLocationYou will be permanently based from their Head Office in Chelmsford.Hours of WorkYou will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with one hour lunch break.
