UK Biobank have an exciting opportunity for an Access Administrator to provide administrative support to manage access requests and to maintain databases and records accordingly at our head office in Cheadle.Location: CheadleSalary: £20,500 - £27,500 per annumAccess Administrator - About Us:UK Biobank is a large prospective cohort study of 500,000 individuals from across the United Kingdom, recruited 2006-2010. A rich variety of genetic, biochemical, lifestyle and health-related information is available on each participant, making the resource unprecedented in its size and scope.The study continues to collect extensive information about its participants with data originating from a range of sources including questionnaires, ongoing assessment clinics, electronic health records, assay technologies (e.g. genotyping, sequencing, and multi-omics data), multimodal imaging and biomarker assays.UK Biobank is an open-access resource and since access to UK Biobank opened in 2012, there are now over 10,000 registered researchers worldwide and over 1,500 research applications to use the resource.UK Biobanks data originates from a wide range of sources, including ongoing assessment clinics, electronic health records (e.g. primary care, hospitalizations, and disease registries), web-based questionnaires and assay technologies (e.g. genotyping, sequencing, multi-omics data). With the growing research activity of UK Biobank, there is also a need to develop long-term strategies and procedures for processing, managing and curating derived phenotypes and results generated by collaborators and external researchers.Access Administrator - The Role:UK Biobank is seeking a suitably experienced person to manage research access requests in accordance with UK Biobank procedures and systems. The main responsibilities will include administrating researcher registrations and applications, ensuring audit trails are maintained for all communications and actions and that quality objectives are met by adhering to Access team service level agreements.You will provide support to the Access Team Manager and other Access Administrators with regards to a wider range of activities which may include user acceptance testing of software developments, generating reports on use of the resource and developing materials for the UK Biobank website.The post will be based within the UK Biobank Coordinating Centre in Cheadle, although regular liaison with UK Biobank staff elsewhere in the UK (Oxford, Edinburgh) will be required. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of data analysts, epidemiologists, software developers, systems architects, research and administrative staff to ensure that research access to the UK Biobank resource is maximised.This is an exciting opportunity to facilitate researcher access to and use of the UK Biobank resource.
