Simpson Judge are currently looking to appoint a Payroll Officer on behalf of a client in South Manchester. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role is responsible for day to day payroll functions, providing guidance and advice on payroll statutory regulations. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team to support and develop the implementation and use of integrated Payroll & HR systems. Responsibilities:• Experience of administering a variety of contractual data for payroll purposes• Knowledge of the principles underlying government legislation and laws• Continuous improvement of processes and procedures to ensure efficiency• Analysis, presentation and reporting of management information in an accurately and timely manner• Undertaking any additional project work alongside the day-to-day running of the payroll process.• Experience of term time only contracts and Teachers’ pensionsRequirements: • Advanced Excel, Outlook and Database skills • Professional qualification such as: • CIPP – Foundation level or above• AAT Level 2 in Payroll Administration• CIPP – Advanced Payroll Technician • Willingness to complete CIPP Degree in Payroll Management• Sound mathematical background• Strong IT skills, including understanding of payroll and time recording systems• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports
