Job Description

Here at Seashell Trust we provide education and care for children and young adults with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties/disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders and autism.We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse or Allied Health Professional who is passionate about upskilling the broader workforce to ensure a high quality service is provided to all of our children and young people.Following the Trust’s recent planning permission we have ambitious plans to develop early assessment and intervention services for children with complex needs. We are looking to build our workforce to enable us to grow our innovative health services. Seashell’s strategic plan places strong emphasis on development of innovative health services and inclusive sports. Plans are currently being finalised for state of the art sports facilities along with specialist therapy resources including a new Hydrotherapy Pool and rebound therapy suite.The successful candidate will be able to design and deliver high quality training and competency checking. This will include leading on the workforce development plan for clinical training for staff working across our education and residential settings. You will be working alongside other Therapy and Nursing Leads to ensure clinical governance agendas are developed and maintained across the service. Strong collaborative working with our Learning and Development department will also be required to support the Trust wide agendas relating to L and D.We are looking for an adaptable individual with a strong grasp of how digital innovations can be used to increase efficiency of training programmes.   • RGN
  • Hands on experience of working with people with complex disabilities
  • Delivery of training
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development within a clinical setting
  • Experience of contributing to risk assessments for children and young people with complex disabilities
  • Ability to deliver excellent presentation facilitation and coaching skills
  • Able to effectively liaise with all levels and disciplines
  • Critical analysis skills
  • Knowledge of principles of safe manual handling and how to apply these in this environment
  • Ability to prioritise completing demands of role to ensure planning, delivery and evaluation of training, competency checking and review of manual handling plans are completed to a high standard.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Awareness of current issues in nursing / allied health professionals and ability to disseminate updates through appropriate forums
  • Ability to manage and plan own workload
  • IT skills including competence in using Microsoft office
