Job Description

Security Controller with experience of working in a Defence or Government setting, and knowledge of the security standards required in such settings.The company is growing and evolving and is now seeking an experienced Security Controller to manage the strategic development of an effective security culture within the Company.The Company operates extensively in the Defence and Government landscape, and this role has specific responsibilities to ensure that the Companys security business processes and ways of working are compliant with relevant legislation, principles, standardsand contractual requirements.BackgroundMKC Training Services Ltd. (MKC Training) is a wholly owned subsidiary of MidKent College. The company was established in 2008 as part of an innovative public, private partnership with the Ministry of Defence to provide training at The Royal School of MilitaryEngineering (RSME) in Chatham, Kent.Over the last 15 years MKC Training has developed deep subject specialism and experience across construction, engineering and associated professional skills. The success of the company’s work at the RSME means it is now able to maximise opportunities to grow and further diversify, so that it can support more employers, training providers and awarding organisations tohelp their learners achieve their goals.The OpportunityThe company is seeking a Security Controller with experience of working in a Defence or Government setting, and knowledge of the security standards required in such settings.In the first instance, the Security Controller will establish the processes, policies and ways of working to ensure that the Company operates according to the principles embedded in relevant standards (e.g. contractual, Defence JSPs, Government). Once establishedas business-as-usual, the post holder will manage ongoing compliance and improvement.The Security Controller will implement and monitor security controls, maintain security risk registers, respond to security incidents and proactively inspect operations. Hybrid working is available for this role, with the postholder attending our Medway or Maidstone sites and the sites of our customers as required.
