Job Description

Our client is a Fast track growth FinTech Payments house - an SME with a leading market share!Located: East London - excellent flexible working & hybrid working (1-2 days p week expected in office only)DescriptionFinance Business Partner - AVP equivBanking & Financial ServicesLocated: East London - excellent flexible working & hybrid working (1-2 days p week expected in office only)The Finance Business Partner is responsible for overseeing the financial performance reporting and accounting for their respective directorate(s). This includes but is not limited to, financial management and financial control in-line with policies, governanceand targets.The Finance Business Partner is also responsible for maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and ensuring that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with the companys financialpolicies, regulatory requirements and relevant accounting standards.

  • Financial performance reporting and financial control for the respective directorate(s) assigned to the Finance Business Partner
  • Financial business partnering including advising the respective directorate(s) through insightful monthly commentary and ad-hoc analysis
  • Support the respective directorates with designing and developing strong businesses cases for change initiatives
  • Provide commercial insight to directorates to drive profitability for their areas
  • Work with the wider finance team to support the requirements for directorates
  • Delivery of effective financial performance information through monthly MI such as monthly financial reporting, forecast, monthly balance sheet, monitoring against budget and monitoring of risks and opportunities
  • Building an annual detailed bottom-up budget / forecast when required for each of the directorate(s) assigned to the Finance Business Partner
  • Ensuring effective stakeholder management by building strong effective working relationships to support the directorate(s) and to ensure that the key messages are communicated on a timely basis to inform decision making and develop commercial acumen
  • Understanding and articulating the key cost drivers and associated accounting concepts in plain language to non-finance staff
  • Identification and understanding of potential cost pressures or opportunities on a monthly basis and ensuring this is captured in overall financial reporting framework
  • Ensuring that the Finance Business Partners directorate(s) are armed with the right information at the right time to reinforce their accountability for its financial performance
  • Ensuring that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, accounting standards and regulatory reportingrequirements and reviewing monthly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance
  • Ensuring that the objectives are considered in all aspects of the role
  • Ensure that policies and procedures (internal controls) are followed to ensure that the company assets are protected
  • Act as an ambassador for the firm both internally and externally
  • Support the business finance and financial control teams to make commercial decisions
ProfileFinance Business Partner - AVP equiv
  • Qualified accountant
  • Excel (Microsoft Office and Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel)
  • Powerpoint presentation creation
  • Good knowledge of payments industry and competitors
  • Knowledge of new trends in the industry
  • Knowledge of finance systems (ie. TM1and Infor Sun)
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to provide insight to decision makers which links business performance with financial performance
  • Contributing insight into the cost base of the directorates under the FBPs remit
  • Ability to utilise KPIs and ratios to identify and report trends and ensure the business is measured and reported against its strategic goals
  • Strong controls and governance understanding and application
  • Ability to improve processes and drive efficiency
  • Strong analytical skills
Job Offer
  • Base from £55,000 to £70,000 for the right candidate
