Job Description

Project AccountantLocation: Manchester, Hybtid or remote£55-65k + benefitsA superb opportunity to join a rapidly expanding international business in a newly created position. We are looking for an experienced accountant with a background working alongside projects, project management, portfolio or change.This is a business partnering role working across the group on a number of exciting transformation projects.Having accounting experience in a projects environment is essential.Duties will include:

  • Capture project spend across the Change Portfolio projects providing cost variance analysis & identifying key cost drivers.
  • Prepare and present Project business case proposals.
  • Monitor and report post implementation performance against expected benefit cases.
  • Present monthly financial performance to various stakeholders and analyse financial data and provide insights to support business performance evaluation.
  • Support the preparation of annual Change Portfolio budgets and quarterly forecasts of financial performance in conjunction with Group Finance Team.
  • Support and challenge project proposals, monitoring and evaluating systems and processes, suggesting improvements and support decision-making.
  • Monitor Capex and provide insight and advice to business partners where remedial actions are identified.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports for ad-hoc projects or initiatives.
We are looking for the following experience/skills:
  • A proven track record in accountancy and/or commercial finance – either qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Experience working alongside projects, change management or PMO
  • Strong technical accounting experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of a complex business
  • Strong systems and IT skills
  • Accounting experience in a projects environment
This position could suit someone coming from a finance business partner background or project accounting. Equally it may suit an experience financial analyst who has worked alongside projects and change management programmes.On offer is an excellent salary with a good range of benefits.
