Job Description

Our client, an established media management company is seeking a Legal & Business Affairs Coordinator to act as a first point of contact regarding legal matters within the business.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with all lawyers to assist them in the Legal & Business Affairs department.
  • Taking responsibility for all contract trackers, rights processes and systems relating to content production and distribution.
  • Ensuring terms and status of all key production agreements are accurately reflected in a variety of contract management systems.
  • Optimising the efficiency of procedures in the legal & business affairs team.
  • Providing administrative support to the department, to include arranging calls/meetings, travel and hospitality arrangements, filing, preparing PowerPoint presentations and organising department requirements generally.
  • Arranging the execution, scanning and filing of all relevant agreements.
  • Preparing and issuing various standard form paperwork.
  • Ensuring new production teams have all relevant information to commence work, in tandem with the Legal Counsel.
  • Preparing and issuing summaries of key financial terms to the finance team for all production financing agreements.
  • Responding to queries from distribution and/or royalties team in regard to contractual terms relating to the company?s catalogue of shows.
  • Performing research relating to the legal and media industry.
  • Maintaining a rights management system to track all retained distribution rights in company shows.
  • Assisting with keeping all company corporate policies up to date.
  • Drafting and reviewing certain forms of agreement when required.
  • Providing support when necessary for client reporting, debt recovery, data protection, trademarks and other forms of brand and IP protection and corporate work more generally.
  • Updating and maintaining the company trademark and data protection registrations as required, through liaison with relevant agents.
