Job Title: Production Planner - GlassHours: 40 hour working week + additional hours where necessary to ensure successful completion of responsibilities.8.00am - 4.30pm (Monday - Friday)Lunch break 1.00pm - 1.30pmReporting to: Production Control ManagerHoliday: 25 days plus statutory holidays (fixed holidays to be advised) pro rata.Our client is a leading bespoke engineering manufacturer based North of Norwich employing around 200 staff. They have built an international reputation for designing, manufacturing and installing products of unsurpassed excellence and continue to be a leader in their field. They have a current opportunity for an Production Planner on an initial 12 month contract to to organise and drive Glass production output according to demand and quality standards. Scheduling will be a combination of both direct sales (to external customers) and internal sales to the fabrication department.The successful candidate will be able to adapt quickly to short term requirements while planning effectively for long term production.RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and prioritise production according to demand Ensure materials required for production are available on time to achieve production target. Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.) Prepare and submit status and performance reports Review and identify capacity concerns and raise with relevant stakeholders. Review production plan with Glass and Fabrication operations management Maintain effective communications with Purchasing, Quality Control, Sales functions Maintain regular checks of externally sourced materials, to ensure materials are received within lead time and to the required quality standard. Management of both internal and external non-conformance reports including root cause analysis and recommendations of continuous improvement measures.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Proven experience as a production planner in a manufacturing environment. Experience using ERP/MRP systems for manufacturing. Previous use of Microsoft Dynamics AX would be preferred but is not essential. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Good communication and time management skills. Strong IT systems knowledge including Microsoft Excel. Numerate and analytical.
