Job DescriptionIf you are studying towards an IT related degree and would like to know more about the challenges faced by IT departments in large companies, this placement with Puma could be for you.***Applications will only be considered from applicants applying through the website. Please do not email directly in to PUMA as any such applications will not be considered***Whilst due to Covid-19, all PUMA UK staff members are working from home, ultimately you will need to be based within communtable distance to your relevant office.A key part of the role will be to support You will start by working on technical support issues for colleagues- this could be a problem with a printer or computer, pulling off reports, helping with the ecommerce website, or auditing hardware.There will also be some systems analysis and testing. While this role is predominantly development based, any strengths in areas such as testing and coding can also be utilised. The role will be predominantly development based, so knowledge of java and C++ will be of benefit. You should be comfortable with programming languages; the business uses RPG and CL so you will be willing to learn these once you start in the role.You will be part of a 7 strong team, and as such there is the opportunity to get involved with more than just your own Job Description, if you are proactive and willing to learn about the business and the rest of the team functions.You will be a logical thinker, who is keen to get involved in many different aspects of the IT team.Essential SkillsThey are looking for a placement student on a computer science or related degree to join the team for a year, starting in August 2021.***We advise all interested parties to apply well before the deadline.
