Job Description

Field Service Engineer (Mechanical Pumps)Location: CastlefordSalary: £32-35k per year + benefitsHours: Monday to Thursday 8-4:30pm and Friday 8-1:30pmDo you have a hands-on approach with experience of pumps and rotating equipmentAre you a proactive, problem-solver who can read engineering drawingsAre you positive and keen to learnIf you answered yes to the above, then this might be the role for you!The OpportunityJoining a long-established manufacturer of high-quality, low-maintenance pumps – from small, portable construction pumps to ten-tonne wastewater pumps. For over 60 years the business has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to a high level of vertical integrationand energy-efficient solutions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fitter and Service Support working within the operations department based at Castleford. This role will be diverse and varied, whilst assisting customers with dismantling, rebuilding and refurbishments of pumps.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a keen enthusiastic individual with a desire to succeed from a technical background with relevant experience. You will no doubt have a focus on customer service, hold excellent hands-on skills with the ability to clearly communicate. Youwill be a strong team player, have a positive attitude and a curious fault finding mind.Key Responsibilities

  • Perform decontamination procedures on pump units prior to inspection
  • Disassemble, inspect and document the condition of pump units
  • Assemble and reassemble pump sets following inspection
  • Utilise drawings to identify necessary spare parts
  • Compile detailed inspection reports summarising findings
  • Conduct mechanical measurements on components and critical dimensions
  • Conduct testing procedures on pumps
  • Perform repair and maintenance tasks on diesel pump sets
  • Collect and deliver pumps and equipment when required
  • Assist with on-site jobs as necessary
  • Demonstrate flexibility in fulfilling additional requests
Key Qualities we are looking for
  • Trained in confined space working
  • Hold an Overhead Crane, Lifting and Slinging Operator License
  • Qualified in Water Hygiene practices
  • Maintain a Full Clean Driving License
  • Completed a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent training
  • Possess experience with Electric Motor & Control Equipment
  • Experienced in working with pumps and rotating equipment
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in ATEX regulations
  • Skilled in fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Hold Forklift licenses
