Job Description

Role: Account ManagerSalary: £25,000 to £27,000 DOE per annum + Performance BonusLocation: Castleford (Office Based)Working days: Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:30pmBenefits: 25 days + Bank HolidaysCompetitive performance related bonusCompany PensionBirthday offSocial eventsMAIN RESPONSIBILITIESOVERVIEWThe Account Managers core responsibility is to manage and develop existing relationships with our Key Client base. As the Account Manager, you are accountable for all elements of the sale process for your client portfolio, including agreeing reserve prices,recommending value adding refurbishment, stock management, pre and post-sale reporting, sale programme management and volume uplift.Daily duties include:

  • Managing the end-to-end site to sale process for the collection and sale of Vendor stock.
  • Oversight of the vehicle collections process including escalation of overdue jobs and daily arrivals
  • Stock management and lotting of vehicles into appropriate sales
  • Sales programme management for all your clients
  • Oversight of all sale preparation activity and ensure this is completed in line with client expectations (including but not limited to: valeting, inspection, imaging, line up, identifying value added services)
  • Working alongside Auctioneers to provide vehicle valuations
  • Liaising with vendors to agree and set reserve prices
  • Requesting documentation in an efficient and timely manor
  • Delivery of all Vendor KPIs and SLAs - Inc Pre & Post sale process
  • Negotiation and submitting of bids
  • Walking Vendor stock lines to ensure vehicle standard is sale ready and meets Client expectations
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the business
  • Maintain regular contact with Vendors and provide a first-class service via phone, proactively prospecting for ongoing business and identifying additional revenue streams and sharing these leads with the sales team.
  • Uplift in client volume of a minimum of 10% per annum
  • Full understanding on each client including but not limited to; vehicle profiles, competitors they utilise, overall annual disposal volume, management structure, projected company volume, transport arrangements and rebate targets.
  • Attending monthly or quarterly review meetings alongside the Sales Director whist ensuring you have an input and presenting your key areas to the client.
PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES/DIFFICULTIES
  • Working in an ever changing and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make informed decisions.
  • Guiding vendors and educating them as to the damage adjusted and true market value of their asset.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise vehicles and vendor requirements alongside operational needs.
  • Flexibility towards working hours to ensure we deliver on business and vendor expectations
  • Be able to adapt and support other team members and departments in line with business requirements.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across a number of different vendor types and business functions, be comfortable in handling difficult conversations and appropriately challenging areas of non-performance in the sale process.
  • Improving 1st sale conversion rates
  • Increasing volume by 10% annually
  • Ensuring all SLAs and KPIs are met
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years working experience within the motor auction or related industry Is preferable
  • Experience in a hands-on administration or customer contact role is preferable.
