Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Metal Shop Warehouse Operative to work for our new client based in Derby. Our client prides themselves on caring for the environment and looking after their staff. Your role as a Metal Shop Warehouse Operative willhelp with the smooth running of this very busy warehouse. The Metal Shop Warehouse Operative is paying between £11 and £13 per hour depending on experience.Pay Rate:

£11 to £13 per hour

Hours:

8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Role ObjectiveWorking alongside the Metal Shop Supervisor to carry out metal work, and manufacture/repair aluminium and steel stock equipment to assist with the successful completion of company projects to specified deadlines.Key Responsibilities:

Follow plans and instructions supplied by the company via either job sheets or manufacture orders.
Safe operation of machinery ensuring that all PPE is utilised as required. Machinery present includes but is not limited to; Cut Off Saw, Vertical and Horizontal Band Saws, Milling Machine, Pneumatic Cross Cut and Cut/Punch equipment.
Welding and grinding down of equipment as necessary.
Liaise with the relevant colleagues to order supplies and materials as required to carry out the specific task.
Ensure that the number of outstanding repairs is manageable.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
Assisting in other departments as and when required

Sills and Experience:

Experience within the appropriate trade and use of similar machinery is essential.
Experience in welding is desirable.
Forklift licence is desirable.
Good communication skills both verbal and written are essential.
You must be highly organised.
Be able to work under pressure and tight timescales.
Must have a flexible attitude and be a team player.
