Job Description

The CompanyA national 3pl business based in Castle Donnington is looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join their logistics team.The RoleThe transport Planner is the first point of contact between the customer and the operations teams. Main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the provisional plan is set up and issued to all sites and the final plan confirmed
  • The planning of all additional routes required to support the operation across all sites.
  • Ensuring all routes on the daily schedule are checked
  • Make routes/deliveries more efficient
  • Dealing with site queries in relation to planning issues.
  • Liaising with customers to secure backhaul loads
  • Assisting with the planning of new work
  • Working with internal customers in relation to Planning

The Right Person The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following on their CV:
  • 2 years previous transport/logistics experience is essential
  • Experience of working in a transport planning
  • Customer service skills
  • Microsoft proficiency - especially Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A confident telephone manner.
  • Commutable to Castle Donnington
