An established and successful business renowned for delivering high quality logistics and delivery solutions, located in the East Midlands (close to East Midlands Airport) with global reach, requires an experienced Freight Manager to work from their HQ.This role has definite career prospects for development into senior/general management for the right candidate. Salary is negotiable dependant on industry track record and experience.The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a freight forwarding business (or a business with a freight department) - experience within international and/or small freight forwarding/logistics companies will be considered.Candidates will need to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:Performance and operational management of a freight team (including freight operators, contract operators and commercial)Business development and key account management/development with 3rd party suppliers and clientsP+L analysis and management including overseeing financial processes and resultsKey day to day activities include:Performance management of the Freight team (including reviews etc.)Daily contact with established accounts (client satisfaction, exploring additional revenue opportunities)Business development - looking for new opportunities, networking, attending and hosting seminars, active promotion of the brand etc.Budget managementThis vacancy will be a key appointment for this high profile client in the field of freight forwarding, so if you feel that you have the relevant skills please forward your CV.
