Job Description

Job title:CNC Setter Programmer Turning Salary Range:£18 - £19 per hour £36,500 - £38,500 per annumOvertime: Paid at Time & Half after 39 hours Hours:6am-2pm/ 2pm10pm Monday to Thursday 6am1pm/1pm-8pm Friday 39 hours weekLocation:Castle Donington Permanent Contract working for a leading manufacturing organisation within the Aerospace, Automotive, Marine and MOD sector.A CNC Setter Programmer is required with knowledge of online programming with Fanuc controls setting Doosan Puma CNC turning machining centres.Candidates that have worked in a high end machine shop with experience of downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures, making required adjustments to offsets, Set new fixtures and prove out programs for new products and the ability to change tools,tips and reset datums to suit will be well received.Due to workload this Tier 1 Aerospace manufacturer based in Castle Donington requires, dynamic leading CNC lathe Setter Programmer on a 39 hour rotational shift pattern on a straight permanent contract. As a turning Lathe CNC Setter Programmer, you willbe required to:

  • Set existing products on CNC turning lathes including downloading programs, setting of tools and fixtures and making required adjustments to offsets.
  • Set new fixtures and prove out programs for new products
  • Set and prove out new tooling for new products
  • Change tools, tips and reset datums to suit
  • Carry out in-process inspection checks, including the use of air gauging, and document where appropriate
  • Operate CMM for in-process measurement checks
  • Gauge checking
  • Look after the day to day maintenance of the CNC lathe turning machines
  • Keep work area clean tidy and safe at all times
  • Any other additional duties as requested
The CNC lathe turner Setter Programmer should have the following skills or experience:
  • Experience in the above responsibilities
  • Experience of Doosan Puma turning centres
  • Experience of Fanuc Controls
  • Able to work using own initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Role adaptability
