Job Description

- Are you looking to work for a Leading 3PL in Cardiff- A really exciting role to out your stamp on an operationClient DetailsMy client is a growing 3PL who are based within the Cardiff area. They are within the Logistics Distribution and Supply chain sector.They have created a new role which has been created to underpin their Health , Safety and Environmental culture and align all operations departments; to lead and create Improvements Projects in all areas including Environmental.This is a very rare exciting opportunity.DescriptionThe Warehouse Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for;

  • Owning the process and managing internal and external audits to drive standards across the business
  • Respond to Health and Safety incidents and provide appropriate advice and guidance to managers
  • Responsible for the overseeing completion of Accident Investigations 8D and Reporting including RIDDOR reporting; executing actions identified
  • Lead the development and upkeep of risk assessments and procedures, liaising with management and HR where necessary
  • Play an active role in the maintenance, organisation and agenda of the Health and Safety Committee
  • Liaise with external providers in relation to Facilities, ISO, Health and Safety and any other providers where required
  • Lead continuous improvement projects; training and coaching others and working collaboratively with the Operations Management team, using Lean methodologies
  • Training through IT systems, one to ones, coaching and meeting with the management team
  • Implement and maintain Safe Systems of Work management; produce relevant documentation and training documentation. Coaching managers to ensure successful training of team members
  • Start and develop Environmental and Sustainability throughout the business
  • Commutable to Cardiff
ProfileThe Warehouse Health and safety Manager will ideally have had exposure to;Essential
  • Extensive experience of SSOW
  • IOSH Managing Safety certified
  • Extensive working knowledge of Warehouse Operations
  • Experienced in project management
  • Excellent communicator and proven experience of working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Commercially astute with the ability to focus on departmental and business plans
  • Comfortable in delivering Tool box talks and training
  • Passion for the Environment and Sustainability
  • Self-motivated
Desirable
  • FMCG experience
  • NEBOSH health and safety qualification
