Sales & Underwriting AssistantSalary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annumLocation: Cardiff, WalesPermanent, full-timeDo you want to be a part of a well-respected independent broker who grows, nurtures talent, and provides employees with a good path to progressionOur client has an exciting opportunity within their Underwriting department based at their Cardiff office. The role would suit a candidate who has good judgement, is analytical, pays great attention to detail, self-motivated and all while delivering excellentcustomer service.Key responsibilities: Delivering excellent customer service. Understand the process and procedures to provide quotations. Communicate all product information clear, fair and concise. Calculate new business premiums in accordance with risk appetite and guidelines. Liaise with insurers for all non-delegated authority business. Answering incoming queries and deal with their requirements in an efficient and timely manner. Identify complaints and refer to the necessary complaints handler. Required to be the referral point within the Branch. Remaining compliant and follow TCF (treating customers fairly), contract certainty & vulnerable customers.Ideal persons profile: Must have 2-year minimum experience working within a broking or underwriting environment. To have product and technical knowledge of insurance and the legal principles of insurance. Cert CII Qualification is desirable although not essential. Competent in windows-based programmes, word, excel and outlook. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive can-do attitude. Strong team ethic. Manage time effectively. Strong Negotiation and interpersonal skills. Good timekeeping and presentation of self and work.
