Following the successful progression of the previous post-holder, this vacancy represents an exciting opportunity for a career in health informatics without the requirement for any previous experience.The Cardiff and Vale UHB Clinical Coding department has a successful team of professionals working in an increasingly high-profile role that underpins the UHBs core functions. Our department is responsible for translating medical terminology directly from patient records into coded clinical data using international coding classifications. The accurate, consistent and timely production of this data supports many uses, including commissioning, audit, service planning and resource allocation.The role offers the opportunity to gain the National Clinical Coding Qualification (a professional qualification recognised worldwide, which results in progression to a Band 4) and the interesting opportunity to develop knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
