We believe that children, young people and their families should have the right type of support at the time they need it.About the jobCome join us and work with children and their families to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation and reduce risk and harm. In this role you will work directly with children and families to increase their knowledge and understanding of grooming and exploitation and how they can be safe using a range of interventions and techniques. This role delivers training to professionals, communities, families and children through group work and one to one sessions.What We Are Looking For From YouYou will bring experience of working directly with adolescents who have experienced abuse and trauma and have an understanding of the impact this has on children of trauma and loss. An understanding of the relevant legislation for children, including an overview of the Social Services and Well Being Act and some knowledge of Child Protection Procedures.You will be able to establish professional working relationships with families, young people and other agencies and have the ability to communicate effectively.You should be prepared to undertake appropriate training to support you in your role and be able to work within a team.This role will require you to work evenings and weekends so you must be flexible in adapting to change in order to meet the needs of the service.Additional informationFor an informal discussion about the role please contact Jamie Phillips on.These posts are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced checks.Safeguarding and Child Protection are key priorities for the Council.
