Job Description

I am recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager/ Business Manager for a leading biotechnology company who are a market leader in enzyme development and manufacture.You will be responsible to plan and organise your time, take control of your prospecting and be proactive in progressing sales opportunities through to winning new business. You will connect with existing clients and use the marketing team to gain leads before offering a consultative approach to build relationships and maximise sales.You will be responsible for the US market, and travel there will be essential and you will need to live within close proximity of an airport.Your Responsibilities as a Technical Sales Manager

  • Identify, develop and win new business in the area of new enzyme development and manufacturing
  • Build and maintain multi-level business relationships with strategic and key accounts
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers
  • Quickly develop technical and commercial knowledge in enzyme development and manufacturing
  • Deliver technical and commercial presentations
  • Plan and organise customer visits to the USA
  • Be flexible with working hours to accommodate client needs
  • Develop technical and commercial knowledge in enzyme development
  • Monthly reporting on current opportunities
  • Writing visit reports
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors and sharing knowledge
  • To ensure all customer communications are recorded accurately on the CRM system
  • Your Skills/Experience
  • Record of achievement in winning new business and developing strong customer relationships
  • Experience in technical processes
  • Science degree - Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Biotechnology
  • Experience working with enzymes, ideally in the food industry
  • Selling technical products into technical and commercial markets
  • Customer account management
  • Travelling globally and dealing with different cultures - specifically
  • Full clean driver’s licence
  • IT: working knowledge of programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM
  • Must be able to travel to the US regularly - 6-8 times a year for 7-10 days at a time

  • Annual salary: £40-43k dependent on experience
  • Annual Sales bonus - target earnings £10,000 plus
