Job Description

Position: Team Leader ‘Outstanding’ ServiceSalary: £21,000kRole type: Permanent ContractedLocation: HerefordHours: Hours of work are based on resident requirement on a rota basis, including early and late shifts across 7 days including working every other weekend.Do you want to work for a Fantastic Charitable organisation who are always in the News for their Events, achievements and fantastic stories. This Provider has been highlighted for the great ethos and work that is happening monthly on and off site.This unique opportunity is one of a kind, and cant be found in surrounding area, due to its approach to supporting individuals complex disabilities and learning difficulties.This provider has won two prestigious national awards for its work with young people with complex disabilities and learning difficulties and we were named specialist provider of the year at the Tes Further Education Awards.EnvironmentWe are recruiting a Team Leader to join a fantastic ‘Outstanding’ residential in the Heart of Hereford. The residential is long-term residential living facility for seven young adults with learning and physical disabilities or acquired brain injuries.The single-storey accommodation consists of seven single rooms, most with en-suite facilities that include spacious wet rooms. A separate bathroom also provides the options of a fully accessible bath. Residents can relax and enjoy meals in a light, air and large open-plan lounge / dining area with large patio doors that open onto a sunny, enclosed decked terrace.Roles and responsibilities

  • To ensure the home is adequately staffed and the team are operating efficiently and effectively, taking into account resident requirements whilst adhering to budget.
  • Leading by example, ensuring that high standards of individualised care is provided for all according to their requirements, so as to ensure that each person has the opportunity to improve their independence and to achieve their full potential.
  • To administer medication and carry out associated duties in line with policy and procedure, when you have been appropriately trained to do so.
  • Liaise effectively with relatives and other professional bodies and to ensure that where appropriate facilitators liaise with relatives and other professionals.
  • Give and receive regular formal support and development and contribute to self and staff appraisals.

  • Ensure that all documentation, including care plans and risk assessments are accurate and are presented and maintained to an acceptable standard in line with policy and procedure.
  • Liaise effectively with all team members and report significant events to relevant team workers and managers.
  • Help the residents become actively involved in the community and to encourage community involvement in the residence on a social basis.
  • Promote and adhere to the organisation’s health and safety policy and any other associated policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Undertake regular training, updates and professional development, and professional qualifications as appropriate.
  • Work flexibly between and be prepared to work and train at other National Star sites.
  • Through personal example and clear action demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity ensuring equality of access and treatment in employment and service delivery to all.
