Job Description*Care For Others - Make A Difference*Support Workers provide a vital part in providing the people we support with the care and ability to improve their quality of life.We are currently looking for a Support Worker to join our teamin Roath, Cardiff.Ty-Newydd is a women’s mental health residential service.The home compromises of 5 modern ensuite double bedrooms. A communal bathroom, two lounges a large kitchen, and a quiet room, for clients that prefer their own company. There is a small but charming garden area, where many barbeques have been enjoyed on a sunny afternoon.Ty-Newydd have an established staff team with a consistent, positive approach to supporting all individuals to achieve their identified goals and learn new skills. We pride ourselves on a person-centred approach to client’s wellbeing and the success of many moving onto independent living.The Support Worker role is 37.5 hours and will include days, waking nights, weekends and some lone working.We know the amazing and life changing work our Support Workers do every day for the people we support, which is why we offer:

  • Support Workers provide a vital part in providing the people we support with the care and ability to improve their quality of life.Your role as a Support Worker will include:- Providing 1-1 and group support sessions- Creating engaging and creative ways to interact with the people you support- Help with accessing the community and taking the people you support to their appointments.- Set person-centred goals and agreeing on how to reach them- Help with personal care when required- Support the running of the home including the cooking and cleaning.The most important qualities needed in a Support Worker are the ability to treat others with respect, listen to their needs and understand their emotions.
