Job Description

We are currently working on behalf of an established fostering agency to recruit a Supervising Social Worker into their established team in South Wales. You will be based at the office in Cardiff with local travel to meet with foster carers and children acrossSouth Wales. Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Reflective and creative approach to working with foster carers and young people to inspire them to reach their full potential.
  • Manage a caseload of typically 13 fostering families, providing support, guidance, and skills development.
  • Commitment to providing wrap-around support to foster carers through participation in an out-of-hours on-call service.
  • Passionate about actively contributing to the growth and development of the Fostering service.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Social Work.
  • Registered social worker in Wales or open to registration (fee covered).
  • Experience in fostering-related social work or child social care, such as a looked-after childrens team.
  • Demonstrated evidence of identifying the needs of young people.
  • Good knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding issues.
  • Ability to make objective professional assessments of children and young people.
  • Access to a car and a valid driving license.
Preferred:
  • Welsh language proficiency, though not essential.
