THE ROLEPurpose: Lead a charity shop team within Cardiff to deliver sales growth and achieve KPIs, through delivering exceptional customer service, operational excellence and high visual standards within the shop to enable them to fulfil their vision.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Lead the team to ensure that the shop delivers maximum sales, profitability and KPI targets, utilising commercial information to take the required action to make improvements including the delivery of excellent customer service
• Participate in monthly and quarterly financial reviews conducted by your Cluster Manager, identifying key actions to improve performance and agree follow up
• Actively promote the charity to the public and raise awareness of their purpose within your local area
• Effective recruitment, development and performance management of the shop team to ensure that the shop is appropriately resourced to deliver operational requirements
• Effective volunteer recruitment, development and engagement delivered consistently in the shop to maximise potential on the resources available ensuring compliancy in delivering the volunteering policy and effectively use our safeguarding and problem-solvingprocedure when required
• Effectively communicate across the team ensuring that everyone is clear on shop and area goals, promoting a culture where people are encouraged to share their ideas and best practice and contribute to Our Forum
• Work with shop team to continually develop the visual, POS and retail standards to promote a strong brand image
• Deliver an effective stock management process within the shop to ensure that you maximise sales opportunities within the donated goods dept through stock rotation, ragging and effective pricing
• Actively drive the delivery of new goods stock management process to achieve stock loss targets
• Actively seek opportunities to drive over the counter stock procurement and gift aid targets through promotion through local communities
• Maintain the standard of the shop through reviewing maintenance requirements and reporting issues to relevant department
• Support area and regional projects as required to drive improved business performance
• Drive and take ownership of personal development and actively seek opportunities to grow

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Proven Track record of delivering KPIs and profit targets within a retail / customer service environment
• Effectively manage a retail / customer service environment offering exceptional service
• Ability to interpret financial reports developing action plans to positively influence performance
• Ability to develop individuals and teams through effective leadership to bring PDSA values to life
• Computer literate - MS Office & Databases
• Satisfactory Reference & DBS check

SALARY AND WORKING HOURS

• 35 hours per week
• Permanent
• Working 5 out of 7 days on a rotational basis
• Salary: Circa £20,000
