Struggling to find a Storage Engineer role with interesting challenges where you can be fully involved in multiple projects across a company We are helping our client based in Cardiff to scale their team with Storage Engineers who want to work within a collaborative team and can add value across multiple worksteams within the business. About the company…• Traditionally not known for their technical capabilities our client are completing multiple transformations and changes to compete within their industry. • The technical teams keep the company at the forefront of technology and as the company scales in projects and size, they have an exciting IT department that are constantly thinking of new ways to improve their functions.About you… • You keep up with the latest technology • Youll provide coaching, training and general support to less experienced members of IT.• You have an inquisitive nature and want to constantly develop your skills.About the role… • Youll adhere to day-to-day processes and procedures which already exist within the team as well as creating, reviewing, updating or replacing any as deemed appropriate.• Youll accept newly completed projects into live ensuring that all aspects to enable support have been considered and supplied beforehand.• Being aware and familiar with the concept of risk and how this can affect the availability of IT systems and be impacted through their activities.• Actively contribute to the Problem Management and Continuous Service Improvement processes and ensure that accurate recording of incidents is provided towards understanding the full impact of incidents and outages.• Liaising with other departments within the business to ensure that their IT needs are met in the most appropriate fashion, particularly with respect to monitoring and alerting.• Participating in the CAB processes and ensuring that all changes are submitted and implemented correctly.• Ensuring that 3rd parties deliver their support in such a way which is beneficial to your environment (and in accordance with SLAs), highlighting any failures and deficiencies.The technology / experience needed… • File and Block level Storage - Pure Storage, Lenovo/IBM V7000/V9000 Unified, HP StorVirtual iSCSI, IBM SAN Fabric Switch Administration, Flex Manager, XClarity, Spectrum Control• Working with stretched fabrics• Enterprise Backup Solutions (VEEAM Availability Suite, IBM Spectrum Protect)• Scripting skills utilising Python, Perl and or Bash• Automation skills (Ansible or Powershell preferably)• Experience of working with ESXi, vSphere v5 and above and vSAN• Excellent multi-tasking skills.• An ability to prioritise work.• A desire to learn and adapt to changes to the technical environment.• Flexible approach to work in terms of out of hours activity being required at times at potentially any one of the Admiral locations.• Monitoring and Alerting tools - Whats Up Gold, PagerDuty, HP Insight, PRTG, App Dynamics, Manage Engine.Next steps… Easy, apply for the role and well be in touch.IntaPeople is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.By applying for this job you accept the privacy policy which can be found on our website.Your details will never be submitted to a client without your explicit consent.
