Job Description

I have an excellent opportunity for a Solutions Architect to join a fast growing, multi award winning fintech company based in Cardiff on a hybrid basis. (3 days office, 2 days home)My client has recently secured funding for the next stage of its global expansion and has an opportunity for a Solutions Architect.This role is pivotal to the next step in their growth plans. This role will be responsible for the technical architecture and infrastructure. You will be passionate about the product, customers and business and share the drive and determination to get thingsdone at pace.You will

  • Take responsibility for the overall design and solution architecture
  • Lead and maintain key design decisions and existing solution architecture documents
  • Ensure the quality, performance and the responsiveness of the solution
  • Work with product owners to ensure work is clearly defined and aligned with business objectives and scoped with effective team estimation
  • Driving continual improvement within the team from regular architectural reviews
  • Coach and mentor others in the engineering team
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and implement new features
  • Assist in defining a strategy and be central to assuring service uptime and reliability
  • Identify deeper issues that need fixing
  • Be proactive in identifying problems and translating these into non-technical descriptions that can be widely understood
Person Spec
  • An experienced and seasoned architect with over 10 years experience who is passionate about building and delivering technology in an agile and fast-moving environment
  • Experience in cloud-first/only architecture using AWS and Python in a serverless environment
  • Strong understanding of AWS RDS and Aurora products, in particular those running the postgres engine. Experience in Database Administration, with a focus on integrity, and performance is strongly welcomed
  • Strong experience in developing React applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript or tools such as Lerna and Storybook
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment and project delivery
  • Any Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • A person with excellent attention to detail that presents work to a high standard
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A background in either financial services/Payments/Tech and Start-up Business would be advantageous
