Software DeveloperSalary: £24,907 to £30,615Hours: 37.5hrs per weekTenure:PermanentLocation: CardiffThe position will require you to design, document and develop integration solutions for numerous systems across Wales. This can be anything from handling patient demographic records that interact between local patient administration systems and the Master Patient Index (MPI), or it could be being involved in the processing of Pathology results from WLIMS. We are therefore looking for an individual that has a good understanding of technologies such as XML, XSLT, XPATH and SQL. You will be expected to work with staff at all levels in helping us deliver our strategic plan by placing quality, safety and innovation at the center of what you do. You will play a key role in working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of new products and enhancements to existing systems. What are we looking forThe ideal candidate will have a proven experience and skills in the following areas but we will also accept applications from candidates who can demonstrate an aptitude to develop and learn these essential skills quickly:*Enterprise Service Bus experience using technologies such as JCAPs, Fiorano, Biztalk, IBM Websphere or Intersystems Ensemble*HL7 V2*XML, XSLT and XPATH*SQL Server*SOAP and/or RESTYou will also have a strong desire to develop your skills in;*Software Development Life Cycle preferably using Agile methodologies such as SCRUM*Application Lifecycle Management using TFS *OOP, unit testing and software design patternsThis is an excellent opportunity for those with operational IT skills wishing to work at a National level. If a candidate is found to be suitable but not to the level desired, a band 4 post maybe available with enhanced training to allow a band 5 to be reached.
