Senior Support & Business AnalystSalary: £31,365 to £37,890Hours:37.5hrs per weekPermanentThis area of the organisation responsible for the design, development, delivery and service management of ICT systems for the NHS in Wales. We play a key role in the delivery of safe, effective healthcare for patients across the whole of Wales. This means ensuring that whilst IT systems store information securely, they also allow the relevant information to be available to the right staff, in the right place, at the right time to support patient care.What you will be doingWe wish to recruit a technical Senior Support & Business Analyst to join our Software Applications teams supporting major National software applications.As a Senior Support & Business Analyst you will be required to take a flexible and innovative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to ensure that the application performs to the requirements of its users and clinicians. You will be expected to:*Provide operational / technical support of the service such as event monitoring, log file maintenance and performance tuning *Demonstrate and apply good knowledge of ITIL service delivery and service support *Server configuration including setting up a load balanced environment with file synchronisation*Monitor system health and resolve underlying issues*Deploy and configure major software releases including Apache, PHP and Moodle*Provide server information analysis and reporting metrics*Provide technical guidance and advice to colleagues and other *Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructionsWhat we are looking forExperience of working within a software service delivery and 2nd line support environment is essential for this post.Experience or knowledge in the following areas would be advantageous:*Windows 2008+ including Active Directory*Installing and configuring open source solutions in a Windows environment*Installing Moodle in a load balanced configuration*Creating test plans and undertaking OAT activities*Installation and configuration of DFS or alternative file synchronisation tools*Development and execution of scripts for server administration and monitoring / logging (Powershell or similar)*Development and execution of SQL scripts / queries*Practical experience in monitoring a database and developing database maintenance plans, particularly with SQL server*Customer and supplier liaison*We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can quickly learn our systems and respond to a variety of support requirements.
