Supervising Social WorkerWorking From Homesupporting carers in their homes throughout East Wales and with weekly attendance at Crosshands office.Head of ServiceFoster CarersMain purpose of the post:To support the Agency in the recruitment, training, assessment, support and supervision of a range of foster carers ensuring high quality placements are available for looked after children.Main Duties:Supervise and support Foster Carers in line with the Agencys support strategy to ensure that Foster Carers comply with Fostering Regulations and Care Standards.To assist in recruitment of the Foster Carers with attendance at Marketing and Recruitment events and to undertake initial visits as allocated. To produce comprehensive professional assessments of prospective Foster Carers.To contribute to the Foster Carers initial training Skills to Foster. To contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews and a willingness to undertake Form F assessments on new applicants.Assist in the identification of a suitable placement in consultation with the Placing Authority, Child and Foster Carers. Support placements of C/YP with very high care needs, challenging and or life limiting conditions where there is a risk of sudden deathin placement.Implement individual placement agreements and represent the Agency at meeting to include Planning Meetings, LAC reviews, Strategy discussions and PRUDIC meetings relating to the Children and Young people placed. Ensure that the childs Care Plan is carriedout in accordance with the requirements of the placing authority and in consultation with the childs Social Worker, Foster Carers, Parents as necessary.To undertake on call duty on a rota basis and if appropriate offer management cover.Maintain records and write reports in line with Agency policy. To develop Policies and Procedures to support the growth of the service. The applicant will be expected to assist the Head of Service in expanding the agencys services.Participate in Supervision, Agency Team Meetings and to arrange and facilitate Support Group meetings, some of which could occur outside of normal working hours.To have a good understanding of the fostering task and work within the Fostering Services national minimum standards and Fostering Regulations.Experience of working with Looked after children and engaging in consultation and Participation events.To work within the policies, procedures and practices of the agency.Education/Qualifications:Degree in Social Work/Dip SW or equivalentRegistration as a Social Worker with the Care Council.Full and valid driving licence with access to own vehicle.Enhanced DBS is a requirement of the post.Experience/Essential:Minimum 2 years post qualifying experience.Experience of Statutory Childcare and Disability.Completing Form F assessments.Ability to work as part of a team and own initiative.Ability to manage their own caseload.Understanding of the Fostering task and Fostering Regulations.Supporting Foster Carers and their families.Participation in on call service.Understanding of the need to work with and on behalf of Children, respecting and maintaining their individually and promoting their positive development.Desirable:Experience of running Carer Support Groups.Experience of delivering Training groups.Experience of marketing and Recruitment.Ability to speak Welsh.
